If you don't mind this aside..I used to work in a jewelry store for many years, and several times over the course of years, we saw Kabana rings brought in for repair, and our jewelers could not repair them due to the exacting pieces of inlaid semi precious stones. Wearing the ring daily, can exact harsh treatment on some of the soft stones, especially the opal...When you buy, make sure of the guarentee, and it's length..Also, find out the average cost to repair stones after it runs out...I am sure many wear them and have no issues, and I hope that for your wife,

Thank you for the information. We will definitely check those stores out.
I appreciate the heads up on Kabana rings. If we do purchase one, it would not be worn daily by any means. Just selectively as determined by Mrs. S. I think she also has a couple of other pieces that you need to be careful with as well. Her fire opal comes to mind, and there may be another as well. Still good to know about the potential issue.
Kabana also makes some very nice slides, especially their new sea life collection (not sure it that's the name). We saw them in Cabo last October, and really liked them.
