What was the most fantabulous, fantastic, amazing deal, you ever got in any port, on your cruise?

years ago hubby bought me a diamond tennis bracelette in St. Thomas for about half of what it would have cost at home, and he got an amazing deal again in St. Thomas on a Cannon 35mm camera, but those days are long gone now

We have bought some nice trinkets and baubles. My wife's favorite necklace was purchased from a street vendor in Majuhual (sp) near Costa Maya.

The "best" deal I have found was in Jamaica on a Breitling watch. It was a Colt Ocean and though the Colt Ocean had been discontinued the year before it was still being sold in many places in the U.S.. I had been looking at one at my local jewelry/watch store. There was a little jewelry store in the Taj Mahal mall in Ocho Rios and we went in. I saw the Colt Ocean and the original price was $1250. That was the standard price. I negotiated it down to $850.

I've been wearing it almost daily ever since. I've had it sent into Breitiling for a couple of tune ups and cleanings and it still "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking". :D

Do you all also get holiday greetings from jewelers where you hava purchased goodies? I smile,and wish I was there:)

Other than the local store, where I've bought a few watches, I haven't received a "Christmas Card".

For what we've bought in the Caribbean I doubt they would bother. ;)
