Alchohol prices - St. Thomas v San Juan
How do alcohol prices compare in these to ports?
|
We have always found it cheaper in St. Thomas but anything you buy in San Juan is not part of your allowance because they are considered a U.S. port. Hope this helps.

How are the airports dealing with people bringing in liquids? I remember back in the day, people carying tons of liquor back, specifically from St Thomas?
Are you planning to pack it in your send through luggage?:( |
I know that if you are docked in Old San Juan at the port there is a place tha thas exelent liqour prices. We bought Bacardi 1 liter fo just over $10 a bottle, they have buy 3 and get 4th free and not just on Bacardi.

I found the selection to be much greater in St Thomas. Especially downtown Charlotte Amalie at AH Rise. Also good prices. We docked in Havensight, and the liquor store that was right there had Cruzan dark in 1l bottles for just under 9 bux each. As mentioned, you also get an increased allowance shopping USVI. I believe its still 5l per person, with a 6th allowed if locally produced in USVI.

We love AH Rise, stop there every time we're in St Thomas. Can't beat their prices or service.

You should be able to find most Rum's at a decent price, especially in San Juan. The only major problem these days, is getting it home, may-be send it would be the best?
