It looks like NCL has just recently started to port in Victoria. I haven't found anyone who has made this stop yet from the cruise line. The stop is a total of 4 hours!!! Not much you can do in this short time. Because of this stop, it requires you to go through customs also!
Any suggestions on what to do there? It hardly seems long enough to even pick up anything illegal! :-) Thanks.
If you are not attracted by the Butchart Gardens tour, it is a Cdn$5 cab ride, or a 20 minute walk from the pier to the inner harbour and donwtown Victoria, and if you are in decent walking condition, Victoria is a charming town to walk in - past the Parliament buildings, the Empress Hotel, Bastion Square, Chinatown and the old - and wonderfully restored - downtown area. It is compact with no real hills, and very pleasant. In case of a rain shower, head to the Royal British Columbia museum, right on the inner harbour - a great collection, especially of northwest Indian art and artifacts. There are also whale-watching tours, with orca sightings a virtual certainty in the summer. Kuki wrote:
