Default Shore Excursions in Cozumel

We are going to Cozumel on Carnival's Fascination in Feb. 2002. The ship docks at 1:30 and leaves at 10:00...not much time.

Some members of our group want to swim with the Dolphins...where is the best place, with the best price, to do this given the limited amount of time? Others want to snorkel, some just lie on a beautiful beach...is there one place to do everything? How should we get where-ever? There are 21 of us! (The whole family is cruising to celebrate my folks 50th anniversary!) How much time does it take to get to the various places? Can a 7 year old swim with the dolphins? Can we book in advance? Know of any websites that would help make decisions?

I would really appreciate any and all info, advice and help! Thanks!

Sounds like you guys need to go to chankarob ..it is a park where you can snorkle, lay on the beach or swim with the dolphins...Just take a cab ..there is an admission but can't remember how much...go early for some great snorkleing.

Here is the website for swim with the dolphins: www.dolphindiscovery.com I hear you can book it over the internet and not have to worry about it on the ship. Good luck.

Thanks for the help and advice!

Can anyone give me an idea as to how long you actually get to spend with the dolphins on the swim at Dolphin Discovery? Is it worth the $120???

We went to Cozumel in December and snorkeled at the Palacar Reef, it was about 3 -4 hours long, it was wonderful!, and it gave us sometime afterwards to go shopping and eat at a Pncho's Backyard, that was our third time eating there. We never swam with the Dolphins because of the expense and we heard that you really don't get to interact with them the way you may like.

A year before that we went on another snorkeling trip which was kinda for the beginners, we did that because our kids were with. After we snorkeled they took us to a private beach to use kayaks, play volleyball and etc. Palacar reef is eay enough though that kids can do it, you basically float and let the current take you.

Have fun!

Chancannab Park is a wonderful place for all the things you mentioned. It has a wonderful beach with little grass covered huts if you don't want too much sunbathing, and they serve you great Pina Coladas in fresh coconuts. It has walking trails where you see iguanas walking around. It has lockers and showers, also you can rent your snorkel equipment there. The snorkeling is great. It is good for all ages. You can snorkle right off the beach. There is some statues under the water; one is of Jesus. And there is also a place there that you can swim with the dolphins. We will be there the week of Oct. 14 with the Inspiration. We have been on this cruise 3 times, and always go back ot Chancannab because we love it so Much! Happy Sailing!!!!

I am going on A Princess cruise on Aug. 12 and I have the tour book in front of me
There is a place, X-Caret Eco-Archeological Park, which has snorkeling, swimming the blue lagoons, snorkel the underground rivers, lie on the beach, walk through the botinical gardens plus other activities. The place offers horseback riding and "dolphin encounters". Never been there but its an option for you. I know the other place, Chankanaab, is good-I've been there.
Have fun.

There are so many things to do swim and feed many kinds of fish, swim in caves (so cold) see the butterfly exibit. lay in hammocks or get a raft and just flost. They do have dolphins you can swim with. To much to list ENJOY!!
