When walking around Aruba at night after dinner you have had on the ship is it casual dressing like skorter skirts or should you dress a little nicer if you are doing shopping. But then again you may stop into a bar for a drink so should you wear a sundress and how about teens what should they wear. Are capri pants acceptable.
We went to Aruba 2 years ago. Shorts or capris are fine unless you are going to an upscale place. The island is very laid back, with a have fun attitude. No one is to concerned about what people are wearing. There is always a strong breeze, so you might want a light sweater when the sun goes down. When we were there we went on the Jolly Roger Pirate Ship - for snorkling. It was so-so. Because it was a booze cruise, there was a lot of drinking, drinking games going on. We had a lot of young Venezelens (sp) on board. The got very, very drunk. Could barely get off the ship, and some passed out on the beach, where their friends left them. Our teens (gourp of 8 4 were teens) were very turned off by this and a little uncomfortable as things were getting a little sexual on board. Other than that it was great. Nice snorkling, pretty fish, beautiful view. There is a rope swing on board where if you choose you can swing off and jump into the ocean - kids & husbands loved it. The crew did really cool stuff up in the ropes & jumping into the ocean.
I only went in the Casino in our hotel, I think I had shorts on. It is a really casual island. I think the pant outfit would be fine. Wear comfortable shoes if you're doing a lot of walking. Have a great time. We really enjoyed Aruba.
One morning half of decided to walk from our hotel to the Butterfly Farm. As we were leaving our lobby and heading for the beach walk way imagine our surprise when we heard our names being called. There were some other people from our town sitting at a table eating breakfast, staying at the same hotel as us. It really is a small world.
