Martinique

I know this place is getting a bad rap. I have not read nice things about it. What can you do here with a teenage girl. I would take the cab to the ferry and go to a beach if there are nice decent ones. I think she will feel embarassed with dad along and any topless woman. Can we just get off and walk around a little and do some shopping or do you have to take a cab. Like I said are the beaches free? What does anyone suggest. I think our ports are st thomas, martinique and then barbados, so we have plenty to do at the other two so we don't have to runaround alot but I like to take advantage of every minute when I am away. I was told that the ship excursions are the best at Martinique they you don't get lost or treated poorly.Thanks
