Default Cave tubing

Hi,
I just want to ask... Do you think is very expensive to pay usd 92.00 for the cave tubing tour in Belize, that is offered by the cruise ship ?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Olguita

A private Cave Tubing tour operator at Belize, Reggie Trapp charges $65pp US, plus if you want lunch, an additional $6-7 depending on your beverage; soda/beer. Check out his web page and email him to discuss any questions. www.regtour.com

On other forums, there is a Ports section with lots of reviews as well as on a Carnival section that does stops at Belize.

We go there on Carnival in just 10 days and I still have not decided yet if I should book the ship's tour @ $85 inc. lunch or go with Reggie. It's not the money but the tendering issue. As a tender port, people with tours get to go ashore first. I would be very upset if I missed the tour because I could not get to shore in time.
Bon Voyage

Reggie waits for you - as long as he is sure you are coming. The way he "made sure" we were coming is that when we emailed him to book, he asked us to contact another group (gave us their cabin number) before we got off the ship, and whoever got to shore first would just let him know that the others were coming. He won't leave without you, as long as you make the effort to get off the ship early. He is the friendliest character ever, makes the entire trip worthwhile - and cheaper than the ship's excursion, to boot!

Reggie will not leave you! We had to wait forever in Febuary to get a tender, they were very slow that day. Everyone in our group was able to get on the same tender. He will not leave, because he needs your money. He is a great guy, and we really enjoyed our tour. He stops at a place where you can get drinks and he will stop on the way back if anyone wants to eat! Save yourself $20 a person, his tour will be the same as the ships. He also really makes sure everyone stays safe!

How is the walk? How long does it take? Do you have time to shop after the tour?

I am interested in this excursion, but have an age question. Will they allow my 11 year son to do this?

Well we did do the Cave Tubing with Reggie and had a great time. We were on the Carnival Legend. We appointed one person to organize everyone, but not everyone got their voice mail message. Go to the lounge where the ship tours are assigned to meet about 15 minutes before their time. On our ship it was 8 a.m., so we gathered with all of our stuff at the back of the theater and met up with most of our group by 7:45. Our "assigned" group leader, you can take the job, located the assistant activities director and asked her if our group could get an early tender as we had a private tour. She was very nice as was our leader, and got us on a tender about 8:45. Not everyone was on the early tender, so we did meet Reggie, settled up with him and had some time to investigate the shops. We were on the road by 10 to Jagua Paw. The walk was not as strenous as I imagined and it wasn't too humid. However, chew gum to keep from getting thirsty. The river in April was very low. Therefore you had to paddle with your hands constantly and "keep your butts up" was a very familar phrase. You get hung up on the rocks and it is really hard to get going again. Overall the river rafting was much more strenous than I thought it would be. We didn't have time for lunch. We arrived back at the shopping Village just before 3 p.m. with an hour left for shopping. Depending on the size of the11 year old (my grand daughter could do it) would make the difference. I think Reggie recommends 12 and up. Reggie will offer lifevests to those who need them.
Bon Voyage
