Default Tip that worked for us

One of the best the tips I got from these boards was to order sandwiches from Room Service the night before an excursion. We kept them in the refrigerator over night, and then packed them in a soft sided collapsible cooler to eat lunch when we were away from the ship. (Be sure to take sandwich bags with you.) On both train rides (White Pass out of Skagway and Grandview from Seward to Anchorage) we enjoyed our picnic lunch while everyone else complained of being hungry. On the White Pass train the promised shack consisted of a bottle of water. The Grandview had a sweet roll and water.
