Default Progreso,Cozumel, Belize w/kids

Hi all. Have been reading the messages here, great info. This is our first cruise on the Elation over thanksgiving week. 3 kids, all active and are not scared of much: Age 13, 11 and 6. Don't want to overload them with too many activities, but can't really decide what to do (especially having no experience) on the shore excursions. The one activity that sounded great was stingray city, however, that is not one of our ports :-)

I'd like to hear what you would do with a family at any of our stops in Progreso, Cozumel or Belize City.

Any other suggestions for traveling the first time would be great. Feel free to e-mail or post on here.

We are taking the same cruise on December 28th - We have been to Cozumel before and it is great - Belize will be new - and Progresso is new also.

We have decided to go Chakanaab park and Sea Trek - walk along the bottom of the ocean and then do the royal dolphin swim. The 6 year could not do it but the othe two could. Last year we did a Catmaran and snorkel and that was the best time - our daughter road on the net of the catamaran and it was like a roller coaster all the way to the island. Snorkeling was great and beah was very accessible to build sand castles. Alos beach floats are avialbel and hammocks, etc. That may work for evryone in your group.

Shark/Ray Alley Snorkel in Belize sounds great but is 1 1/4 hour away - maybe we will do that or cave tubing.

Progressso we will just enjoy the ship.

Camp Carnival is wonderful. Our daughter never wants to leave - we have to make a rule at least one meal of everyday and fun time together or she wold never be with us- She is 10

Good luck - there is a shore excursion site on the Carnival wesite that will give you all possible excursions.

Youl could also e-mail carnival and ask for the list of shore excursions - then you will have the prices for everything too.

We looked into the Cave tubing, but our little one wouldn't be able to go either. So we are now looking into this for Belize.

Cozumel - spend a few hours at Channunkaab National Park, grab a taxi from the pier - about a 20 minute ride. Nice beach, decent snorkeling, dolphin swim ( book in advance) small seaquarium, replica of the ruins. Great family place.

Taking the same cruise 12/28.

Been to Cozumel numerous times. Last time we did the All Terrain Truck. Plan to do again with my kids. It was a good combo of driving and seeing the sights - climbing the lighthouse, seeing the mangroves, beach and snorkeling. Ends in time for you to do some shopping in town.

Progresso - I have no idea and haven't been able to find much - guess we will do 1 of the ships excursions

Belize - I went to http://www.belizecruiseexcursions.co...bingBelize.htm adn booked to book the Cave Tubing . I have teens and that looked like the most appealing to their age.

We visited these stops on the Pride in March.
If you liked the jeep trip on Cozumel, consider the jeep hacienda tour at Progresso.
The cave tubing was very popular choice; lots of good reports from those who went.
We opted for the River Wallace/Altun Ha Mayan site tour; it was excellent , but probably not that exciting for the kids.
