Montego Bay

Anyone do the Mountain Valley Rafting ? If so, any suggestions?
Think we are wanting to try and do a more leisurely tour at this stop

Still looking for feedback on things to do at Montego Bay....any suggestions?
Right now we are still looking at doing the Mountain Valley Rafting....that is the Bamboo ride down the river, etc...not like white water rafting

I would e-mail Carolyn at Barrett Adventures(sorry, I don't have their e-mail with me) in Jamaica. They'll e-mail you a list of the more common excursions they have for half and full days. Custom tours are also available. If you seach the message boards you will not find anything but very positive reviews for them. They have a great reputation and are known for doing what you want while offering local "out of the way" tours different from the mass produced type tours.

We'll be doing VS falls in the morning, lunch and tubing on the river afterwards with a stop at the Hummingbird sanctuary w/ shopping on our way back to the ship on January 20th. Best cruising to you.

Thank you for your reply....We are a party of 8 and pretty much have decided to do the Mountain Valley Rafting. This does the bamboo raft ride, a plantation tour, some shopping. We are on the Conquest and will be there Jan 14

We did Mountain Valley Rafting and loved it! It is a very slow, tranquil trip down the river. The guides are very knowledgable and spiff up their rafts by decorating them with flowers. At the end, there is a demonstration of a boy climbing a really tall coconut tree to pick one. Then they demonstrate making pina colladas - you get a sip either alcoholic or non. It would be a great honeymoon type excursion. Only 2 people can sit on 1 raft.
