Default excursions in Hawaii

we have cruised 3 times and are going to Hawaii, Does anyone have any excursions they would recommend? We always book ares with a local company, we don't want to be snorkeling with the wole ship, etc. Any suggestions would be great? Thanks,

I don't know what you like doing so it is hard to recommend. My top recomendations
for example for Mauii would be 1) snorkelling Molokini Crater. Best boat by far, Four Winds II. You can book in advance on line or with 800 number and get a discount. 2)Evenings in Lahaina, try the Old Lahaina Lua. It is hands down the best in Hawaii , period Book this in advance..3) Alternative evening entertainment is Warren and Annbelles. The theatre is located rigfht on Front Street and you must book in advance. It may just be one of the most entertaining evenings you have ever spent.4) Daytime touring? Iao Valley and Iao Needle are quite beautiful. On the way stop at the Mauii Plantation and ride the tram.
Mauii Ocean Center is also quite nice.
5) right time of year, go whale watching.
That's just one island's worth of "on your own" recommendations.

On Oahu, must see's include Pearl Harbor Memorial, (get here early, entrance is limited, free but first come first served). Polynesian Cultural Center is a must do if you have time. Plan on arriving when they open at noon and stay for both the Luau Dinner and the after dinner spectacular show. You will need until 10 pm to do it all. The Ambassador package includes everything including guided tour (worth it) , Luau, Imax movie, after dinner show and a number of valuable "freebies".Book this in advance.
Pali Lookout is fabulous way to view Honolulu side of the island. Visit the beaches of the north shore. Sunset, Waimea Bay, Pipeline. Snorkel off the beach at Huanama Bay.
On the way to north shore visit Dole Pineapple Plantation . Best Luau on Oahu, is Paradise Cove located in Ko Olina resort area on the west coast.

Kuai the sights to see are Waimea Canyon ( 2 hour drive each way from port), Wailou
River,Falls and Emerald Grotto. Helicopter tour of the Canyon or Napali Coast ( or both). Blue Hawaiian helicopter is the biggest. They also due rides on the big island, Maui and Oahu as well.
