I need FIRST HAND information about "White Water Rafting" in Puerta limon Costa Rica, and wether its available to be booked on shore privately when you arrive or do you HAVE TO book with the Cruiseline on board before arrival.. If we wait til we get there and its not offered in the "Green tent "or by Mambo tours in the terminal we'll be out of luck and very disapointed,... So please again, if anybody has FIRST HAND info (not guesses) in would be greatly appreciated
Took rafting excursion through ship. Long bus ride but best shore excursion in 8 cruises. Went with 2 other couples we knew and everyone had a blast. It had been raining all week long and river was very swift and muddy. Previous day trip were cancelled. Light rain the whole day but so glad we went. Hope to do it again.
Saw 2 people (serarately) get tossed but quickly pulled to side and back in raft. We happened to get in with the head guide so were in the middle of the rafts. Our guide had us circling through one rapid just for fun. He was terrific.
My white tee shirt is permanently dingy so wear an old shirt!
Did this thru the ship back in 1990. Try a search for Rio Tropicales. They were our operators back than, quite good, and heard over the past year that they still do this tour. Check ports of call for any/all reccomended operators. It was a woderful experience that my kids then 15/11 now 28/25 still talk about.
