Default Mexico Riviera

Does anyone have experience doing their own shore excursions on this itinerary?

I sailed to the Mexican Riviera at the end of October on the Vision. You are going to have a great time!

Do a taxi in Cabo, and go to San Jose De Cabo. Negotiate the fare up front with the taxi driver. Note: You pay per load of people in the taxi NOT PER PERSON. Just ask for a 2-3 hour tour. Not sure of the cost, but you can bet it is cheaper than the cruise line. Oh go to Giorgio's it is a nice resturant/bar with beautiful scenery.

Mazatlan: The port where they drop you off is terrible. It is in an industrial area which needs improvement. Take a shore excursion here. We did the ship sponsered
Colonial Villages tour and it was great!

Puerto Vallarta: Get a taxi when you get off the ship. Again, this is cheap, our table mates paid $15 each for a 3 hour tour around the island, with a couple they met, so it
was 4 people in a cab. $60 total. P.V. is absoluetly georgous, clean and safe. Get the driver to take you to Misyolma (sp?) and up to the hills where the rich folks live. Check cruise-addicts for reviews of the Mexican riviera.

If I can be of any help, let me know what you are looking for. I can give you a lot of information about my beautiful city. I sometimes do not check some of the boards so if I donīt answer you, e-mail me direct. Have a great cruise!

In Cabo stop at the Cabo Wabo Cantina for the best margaritas!

PV is beautiful. There is also great shopping. We rented a car and stopped at Mismaloya, the malecon and the set where Predator was filmed.

Not much to do in Maz, we just rented a Zini and drove around.

In Mazatlan, take a tour with Randi's Happy Horses. You'll ride through a 6,000 acre coconut, lime and mango plantation and end up on the beach. After the ride Randi will take you to Victor's Restaurant on the beach. The garlic prawns were great and only $10. The ride was $45 and Randi picks you up and drops you off right at the pier. My daughter and I did this tour 2 years ago and it was great. If you want Randi's address, just e-mail me. Becky xanthlover.1@junocom
