Default "The Best Beaches" List

Here it is so far! The Cruise Cynic's list of recommended beaches! Print it out and take it with you. As I have not been to all these beaches personally, the source of the recommendation is in parentheses. Enjoy!

ARUBA - Baby Beach (Juliane, Debbie) / DePalm Island - recommended for snorkelers / The Hyatt Hotel Beach (Sail7Seas) / Eagle Beach - 'picture post card beach' says (Calgon) / Palm Beach (Moondawgie) / Rodgers Beach in the Seroe Colorado area beyond San Nicolas (Kasper) / Malmok Beach for snorkeling (Jacquelyn)

ANTIGUA - Miller's Beach -Taxi $10.00, cheap chairs $5.00 (LivSea2) / Jabberwock Beach & Rendezvous Bay are secluded beaches (Calgon) / Runaway Bay - Taxi $10, Chairs $10, Sunshade $10 - average crowded beach with shelving just past the water (Cruise Cynic) / Dickinson Bay & Deep Bay - Taxi $10 / Nonesuch Bay, Mercer's Creek & Half Moon Bay are on East Shore Taxi $30 or more / Pigeon Point, Five Islands Beach & Morris Bay - south shore $25 by taxi

BARBADOS - Sandy Beach in Worthing (Jenhen) / Crane Beach & Brandons Beach (Traveletc Magazine courtesy of Nath) / Mullins Bay Beach - nice, clean, small beach with a restaurant. Beach is controlled by the restaurant, so harassment is selective. I am told that beach chairs are no longer free here. Taxi $25 each way (Cruise Cynic) / The Boatyard - right in port so the view stinks, Crew go here, $$$admission / Greaves End Beach & Needham Point are to the south $8 Taxi ride / Browne's Beach & Brighton Beach are to the north Taxi $8 / Casuarina Beach Resort , free chairs in hopes you will buy a drink, taxi $15.00 (LivSea2 sez "you will thank me") / The Beach at Malibu Rum Distillery is quite nice. Chairs $5.00 watercraft rentals available. Taxi $5 each way / Folkstone Park is great for snorkeling, plenty of grass, chairs, shade, but not much sand (jlmolner)

BAHAMAS - Paradise Island Beach is very nice with some surf, taxi $5.00 per person each way (similar cost to get to Atlantis) A public beach access is located up the road from Atlantis, vendors sell practically everything on the beach, including cold drinks / Cable Beach away from the hotel areas, not too crowded but grainy sand and shelving at the water's edge / Blackbeard Beach - on an island near Nassau (Luv2Cruise) / The Blue Lagoon - formerly Salt Cay (Nieciez)

BELIZE - Information Needed!

BERMUDA - Jobson's Cove (PBP) / Horseshoe Bay (Anton) / Church Bay in Southampton is isolated, quiet & secluded ; Ft. St. Catherine's Beach in St. George, just down the road from Tobacco Bay is beautiful and less crowded (Kasper) for snorkeling you might need to swim out (Jacquelyn) / Elbow Beach (Travel & Life Caribbean Magazine)

BONAIRE - Plaza Resort Beach - Beautiful sandy beach with lots of shade, however coral begins at the shoreline. Facilities & changing rooms available. Admission $5 includes chair and towel. Taxi $7 each way, or 20 mins. walk. (MarilynS)

COSTA MAYA, MEXICO - Jungle Beach Break - divergent opinions seen regarding this one... one poster calling it idyllic, another said it was a waste. The small beach next to the pier here is a waste, but you can sunbathe. A large saltwater pool is located in the shopping plaza for cruise passengers to use, with floaties, etc.

Punta Bete ... just north of Playa del Carmen ... extremely laid-back (Pam Kane). Don Humberto's restaurant and beach, just south of Tulum. Clothing optional (Pam Kane). Pez Maya ... about halfway to Punta Allen. Very deserted, very beautiful also any beach after you cross the bridge on the way to Punta Allen (Pam Kane). / Yucatan ... Celestun Beach. Good restaurants and you can take a boat into the estuary to see the largest flocks of flamingos this side of Lake Tanganyika (Pam Kane).

CURACAO - Aquarium Beach - admission charge, facilities - OK beach with very hard sand, not very scenic due to cement breakwater, note: most menus & signage are in Dutch only, taxi $10.00 each way (Cruise Cynic) / Mambo Beach for snorkeling (Jacquelyn) / Porto Marie Beach - Clear, clean, good snorkelling, and uncrowded. Hey Cruise Cynic,

My friends and I would like to visit a few different beaches, preferably ones that are close to each other. More specifically, we want to enjoy the best snorkeling and then do some water sports. Can you suggest an Itinerary for me of which beaches to visit?

I love Makapu'u Beach on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. It's so beautiful and has great waves.
