Reboarding after a shore excursion

First time cruiser looking for an answer to a seemingly easy question- but one I can't seem to find. If for example the ship says you are in port until 6pm- what time are you expected back on board?? We're just trying to work out some excursuions on our own and I have no interest in cutting it too close. in case it matters, these are docked ships not tenders.

The ones that I have been on usually have the time for last boarding at one half hour or 30 minutes before the sail time.

we were always afraid of missing the boat ....we made it so that we were on board 1 hour before departure...plus it gives you time to get ready for dinner.

you should be on board 1 hour before departure time.

Now I just read somewhere else about time changes?? If your boat leaves say in Central time, are all the times listed on your itineray Central time or local time??
6 pm in Cozumel is the same as 6pm in Galveston I think. ??

The last 2 cruises I've been on it's 30min prior to sailing.

Cozumel is one hour behind EST....so that would be CST....
We're going on the Inspiration out of Tampa and we'll have to adjust our times accordingly as we'll be in Cozumel and Belize, etc...
