Mayan Ruins better from Cozumel or Belize City

We are cruising to Cozumel and Belize City, among other ports, in April. Are the shore excursions to the Mayan Ruins better from Cozumel or Belize City? Thanks!!

MUCH easier in Belize, and from there you get to visit Chitchen Itza. A large and interesting set of ruins.

Is there no tour from Cozumel to the Chichen Itsa ruins? I thought I heard there was.

Kuki, you've got me confused, I'm taking the family on the Carnival Glory 7/3/04 and we are going to Belize, Cozumel and Progresso. Which is the best for the Mayan ruins?
What else would you recommend, I have three children 10-13. Thanks

I would recommend progresso tulum is awesome! Belize is nice but Tulum by the ocean. Tulum has a bus ride and a long boat ride back to Cozumel and Belize has a bus ride back to the tenders then to the ship.

Hi Sheri, It depends on what you like. In Mexico some of the ruins are bigger than the ones you see here in Belize given the time you have from the cruise ships. But as one lady said once that it depends a lot on the guide you get. She said and i quote "The ruins may be bigger in Mexico but the information I got from our guide in Belize made it much better and we learned a lot more about the mayans than we did in Mexico. So there you have it, it really depends on what you want.
