Default Montego Bay

Please suggest excursions for Montego Bay - we've not heard many good reviews for this port and we want to make the most of every day of this trip as it will be our honeymoon.

Thanks for the feedback, we're sooo very much looking forward to taking the cruise and exploring new places we've never been.

I stopped in montego bay last year on a western carribean cruise with carnival. I am sorry to say that I absolutely hated montego bay, we did a horse back riding excursion which was fair, but the the local people were horrible. You are constantly harrased. Not my idea of a relaxing vacation. thank god it was only 1 day...I hope yours turns out better. Margharitaville was pretty nice though.

I was there last week. It was terrible. The local told me how to tip my guide and demanded me to buy a beer for a guide while the weather was so cool. I did not need to have a beer myself. It costs $60 to drive a one hour bamboo raft. What a ripped off.

We're now thinking that we will try to keep a low profile by checking out a beach - any recommendations?

Jamaica is one of those ports where a ships excursion is highly recommended.
LeiLoni- the Princess tour of the Martha Brae river is amazing. You sit on these long bamboo rafts while your river guide gently poles your raft along, its a very relaxing, very scenic ride, you get to see the lush greeness of Jamaica.

It the LeiLoni tour available only to Princess ships? We're travelling with Carnival. How long was the excursion and what was the cost? It sounds pretty amazing!

My name is LeiLoni
The tour is the Martha Brae Rafting Tour. I do belive that if you just go to www.marthabraerafting.com you will get the information.

We were on the Conquest Jan 04. We used www.greatvac.com and booked the Mountain Valley Rafting. the price then was $36 per person

best beach in Montego Bay is Doctor's Cave Beach right on main street. There's a cost to get in but there are lockers, showers... At least there was last time I was there. It's amazing clear water and white sandy beach.
