Default Boston - Carnival Victory

Hey everyone -
I am a first time cruiser and will be going to Boston among other places on the Carnival Victory in October. I found a shore excursion I would like to do, but dont see anywhere to book it or even a price for it.
Do you have to wait until I get on board to book these? If so, where on the ship would I do it? Hopefully, I can just place a call to someone instead of having to stand in a line...*crossing fingers.
Also, it is usually cheaper to book the shore excursions or do something comperable on your own?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!!

We'll we were looking into the Duck tour....but after that we dont really know. We are there until 10:30 that night, so we need a great place to have a few drinks maybe
What do you think are the "must see" places in Boston? What on Freedom Trail is worth it since we are only there for part of one day.

Any info would be appreciated!

the duck tours are a blast! You can book them on your own in advance as they are very popular and sell-out fast.( do a google search ) The Freedom Trail takes you thru all the historic sites of Boston- relative to the Revolution. Its a lot of walking takes the better part of the day. But it is very interesting.
Unfortunatley Carnival does not let you prebook your shore excursions. You have to book them when you get on the ship, i think there is an interactive feature on your cabin's TV set to book shore excursions, but i am not totally sure.
