Tequila Tour-PV

Any comments out there on the Tequila tour in PV? Is it an excursion that you have to book through the ship or can we visit this place on our own? Any info would be helpful. We will be in PV in Oct and my father is travelling there as well but not on the ship. I was looking for something we could all do but not have to book through the ship. Thanks!

My husband and I went on the tequila tour last November and had a great time. We booked through the ship. We went to 3 "factories" and one wood-carving place. Of the 3 "factories," the one called Mama Lucia was the best. They have flavored tequila that you can use to marinate chicken or simply pour over ice and sip. We bought one bottle of orange tequila and wish we'd gotten more. It's great.

Hi there. Sounds like you may be going on the same cruise we are. Oct. 23rd out of New Orleans? Just came off the Conquest last week for 8days. Did Cozumel on that cruise as well. It was a family cruise with younger children so we did not do the "party boat" route that go round. You can book independently and would highly recommend it. We saved a lot of money by booking our excursions last week through the internet. The Shore excursions booked through the ship would have cost us $123.00 each for a particular excursion we took, however, booking on our own through another company saved us $68.00 each person and they only took 25 people as opposed to the triple decker boat that held at least 200 people that was booked through the ship. Boy were we happy we took this route. It was recommended by a friend that has cruised at least 45 times prior and has tried every different excursion you could possibly think of. We did exactly what you are doing now - checked chat rooms and message boards and found that other people had the same success.

We have 17 women going in October on the Sensation out of New Orleans. If you will be on that ship, look for the "Bonco Babes" and say Hey Y'all!!

We are cruising out of San Francisco down to Mexico on Princess this time around. 10 days this time. WoooHooo! Can't wait. We had looked at the cruise on Carnival out of New Orleans. Maybe next time. :-)
