My husband and I are taking our very first cruise in September and are stuck on a decision between 2 excursions in Ketchikan. Can anyone tell us about the Misty Fjords Wilderness Flight & Cruise or the Best of Ketchikan by Land & Sea tours. Any advice will be appreciated.
The best of Ketchikan by land and sea was an afternoon tour for us. We were taken by narrated bus tour to te Totem pole park where we were given a brief narrated tour and then some free time. We continued by bus to an old salmon cannery where there were many lovely photo ops, a tour including some musem type exhibits of the canning industry and some brief free time. At the end of the cannery we boarded a tour boat that had both inside and outside viewing . Several differnt snacks were offered as were cold drinks. We "sailed " the coastline back to Ketchikan. Highlights were harbor seals by the dozens on the shoreline rocks, numerous bald eagles in the trees and an eagle "lunching" on a salmon by the shore line. Guides and crew were knowledgable, friendly and professional. We were left at the town dock a block from the ship. The morning tour did the trip sea first the bus.
