Default Beach in St. Thomas

We are 6 people who will be going on Captain Nautica's Snorkel Adventure at 1:30PM. Would really love to see Megan's bay in the morning. How much time does it take to go there, should we just taxi there, would there be any time to beach, or should we just ride by. Ideal would be to go there in the morning, lunch back on the ship, and then snorkel trip in pm. What advice can you all give me? Thank you. We leave Sat!!!
Can't wait - on Navigator.

Hi Anne,
It can be done, but you'd have to get going first thing in the AM, get a cab right by the pier and head out that way. Meagans bay is a beautiful beach, but thats about it, there isn't any good snorkeling there and the trip each way can take at least 20 minutes or longer. Everytime we've been there, always a traffic jam going through downtown, you'd have to limit your time there, then get back for lunch before your 1:30 excursion. A lot will also depend on how many ships are there that day, that nice little town can get busy with just a few large ships in for the day.

I'd suggest doing some shopping by the pier or even going downtown in the AM, get back to the ship for a nice lunch, then do your excursion, just another idea.

Have fun!

Donna's advise is right on target. It all depends upon what time your ship docks, how quickly it clears customs and immigration, only then can you disembark. Traffic can be a nightmare if there are alot of ships in port. It can be done but your beach time would be limitied. If you want a beautiful scenic view of the harbor take the Paradise Point Tramway which is really close to the pier
