Heritage Plant Walks
Hello Everyone,
Nanaimo, BC on Canada's west coast is a new port of call for several cruise lines. I am a career naturalist as well as a professional heritage interpreter and native plant gardener who is putting together a short, easy guided nature walk in the downtown area for cruise passengers on behalf of my own tour and training company. I thought I would ask you if this is something that would be of interest to you? I would appreciate any feedback you may have. Topic: Heritage Plant Walks Content: basic local geology, growing conditions, dominant ecosystem of region. We will cover a few typical native plants and trees found in planters, alongside buildings etc and one interesting exotic that has a unique history in our area. I also encourage questions as we go. Length: 50 min. Cost: $6 US per person, maximum 12 people per group Difficulty: Easy with stairs Distance: 0. 5 mile I am thinking of scheduling them on the hour and leaving from a prominent landmark, not far from the dock. |
