Has anyone ever done this??? My husband would like to do it. I was snorkeling in Cozumel and they were around me and it looked like a lot of fun??? Thanks for any info. Thinking of doing it in St.Thomas!!
Hi Sun,
Yes, we did BOB in St. Thomas, and it was great. We thought it was worth the money, although the actual time you have on BOB is about 20 minutes, but while waiting you can snorkel or just hang out on the boat, talk to the crew. All in all it was a very interesting and different excursion. I understand they still book up quickly, so be sure to pre-book it if you really want to do it.
It did take a little bit to get used to it, everything seemed closer than it actually was, but you'll get the hang of it. They also have a few divers down there with you for any assistance and will take pics etc.
Just got done booking it and the mini boats in Antigua!! The rest of the ports just going on our own and relaxing, thanks for the info! Wanted to book BOB, we heard it books up fast!!
Hey, Donna or Peter, in St. Thomas where do you go for the excursion? How far from the ship to the place to get started? We are trying to decide whether to shop and do the sky ride before or after our excursion. Our time for BOB is 12:30-4:00. We are at St. Thomas from 7a.m.-6p.m. Thanks for everything!
Hi Sun,
The people from the excursion are on the pier at the time you are supposed to be there, they will be holding a sign and most likely be wearing "BOB" t-shirts, you can't miss them. Look for them by the exit ramps by the ship.
I'd head out after breakfast and do the sky ride and ship, both right next to the pier, then either grab an early lunch and do the excursion or go right to the excersion.
I did this last week in St Thomas and it was a blast. They had equipment so you could snorkel while you were waiting your turn to BOB. My 15 year old wished they would have been faster, but he still enjoyed it. The crew was very friendly and funny.
