We had an incredible experience in Belize with X-stream Cave Tubing
They were a top notch operation from start to finish. They met up with us right in the port as we got off of the tender. We were a little late and just as they had stated, they waited for us. Our guide was Richard, a very friendly man from Belize and we had only 8 people in our group which made for a very nice personable tour.
It was about a 45 minute ride to the cave in our Van which was nicely air conditioned, the last 10 minutes was really bumpy once we turned off of the highway.
Once we were outfitted with our gear, we set off up the trail. Richard was very entertaining as well as educational about the rainforest plants and mayan culture. I would estimate it was about 45 minutes. Then we got into the water , easy to get in and onto your tube. The river was clear, clear blue water and inside the caves the sunlight shines down into the caves through cracks in the rock. Very beautiful and some of the areas are reminicent of scuptures, the guide even had names for them. We coasted along for over an hour maybe one and a half and at one point we pulled over to the shore in the cave and got out of our tubes and ventured on foot into another cave that wasn't full of water. once we viewed that cave we headed back into our tubes and continued down river. Once back at the entrance area we dried off and the ones that had ordered lunch at the beginning (we did) sat down for it as it was ready and waiting. Only one couple didn't but they bought some local beer and sat with us too. The lunch was $5 extra but it was so good!
I strongly recommend using X-stream, we had one of the best days!!
