Whats best on a Panama Canal from Seattle to Ft. Lauderdale

Hi, anyone who has done this trip? I would love to hear what your favorite excursions were.

what are your ports of call so that we may make specific suggestions.

Our Ports are San Diego, Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, Huatulco, Punta Arenas, Aruba .

Any info would be appreciated. We are mid 60's but very active.

Acapulco - Did the ship's excursion to Mayan Palace Resort...BEAUTIFUL and relaxing! Included Buffet lunch. Did an hours shopping when back at downtown, dock area and was glad I didn't spend too much time there. The resort was a good trade-off.

Putarenas - Didn't go here, but did reach Peurto Limon on the other side of Costa Rica. Booked a private tour over the internet with "Charlie" because of many good comments from other internet cruisers. WELL WORTH IT! He will meet you in either port and take you to wherever you want. He even had beverages for us, and asked a local seaside restaurant to give us a sample of fried sweet banana. YUM .Also took us to local market to buy CHEAP coffee & vanilla. Always stood by our side so we wouldn't get ripped off.

Aruba - Booked ship's excursion for local attractions, then found out many others just walked off the ship and found good repitable companys on dock to take you to the very same places at half the cost. Kept bumping into them on our travels and they seem to be having as much fun as us.

I did this itinerery from San Diego to Ft. Lauderdale. Great cruise!

Cabo San Lucas: Take a water taxi (A large row boat with outboard motor) Great scenery, great views of the area. Best seen from the sea. Taxi will drop you off at a abeach and pick you up.

Acapulco: Hire a taxi to take you sightseeing with a stop for lunch at one of the great seaside hotels. We skipped the cliif divers, most people go.

Huatulco: Enjoy the beach. Glorious!

Panama Canal: We did a ship excursion (bus) to one of the locks and Panama City. The worst tour I've ever been on. Actually got a refund from the cruise line. That's how bad it was
