Karen, we were there last year on the Serenade, and are going again next April. We did a land tour with a local independent guide. The island is beautiful! Check out my photos to get an idea of things we did. http://community.webshots.com/user/Sheffie100

We hired a driver with another couple and had numerous stops. If you want to see the"twin peaks" beware this is a long and curvy drive. Upon our return one of the ladies had gotten sick. The nice thing was we made several stops along key picture taking areas, saw the peaks, the sulfur pits and a beautiful botanical garden. Another way to get to the peaks is by catamaran but then you don't get all the stops along the way.

What a beautiful island. Many sites to see. We took the island tour
to see Castries, Marigot Bay, Pitons, sulphur springs and later spent
time on Reduit beach. Great photos!!!! We hired a taxi driver before hand. www.fabiantoursstlucia.com

The Pitons, Botanical Gardens, sulphur springs, Diamond waterfalls are all at the south end of the island and worth seeing. There are other sites you can see along the way (ie., Marigot Bay). We worked with Fabian for a tour of the island and he did a fabulous job (see separate review). ***edited to remover commercial reference***

We went to St. Lucia last year on the Serenade. It's my favorite port!
We did the Caribbean Pirates Excursion through RCI and it was a blast. We stopped at Pigeon Island and tendered off to the beach by the Sandals Resort. It was absolutely gorgeous. The Serenade left port at about 5pm and the captain spun the ship in circles in front of the Pitons so we could watch the sunset over them. It was amazing.

St.Lucia's main highlights would be their twin mountains Pitons, the sulpher springs drive through volcano, waterfall and georgeous scenery. We had a wonderful private day tour with Jackson through Phillip Tours philliptoursstlucia.com, St.Lucia was certainly a highlight of our cruise.

I can't remember the guy's name (sorry, I'm blonde and a senior ), but there is also an incredible wood carver who has a studio in the hills on St. Lucia. Beautiful work that truly qualifies as art, rather than arts + crafts. If you are into this kind of thing, let me know and I will try to track down the info.

Which cruise line will you be on? I was on Monarch of the Seas and booked a tour through the cruise line. This was our favorite tour. We did the land and Sea tour. We took a bus to the pitons and that walked around the sulphur area and than we took a boat back to the pier. The boat stopped along the way for some swimming and rop jumping into the water. I hope this helps.

Definitely the pitons! If you can, I'd suggest some type of excursion by boat down to see them, w/a stop at a nearby beach (Anse Chastenet or Jalousie if poss.) The views of this island from the water are incredible!

Hi I went to St.Lucia couple month back and we did the Canopy Adventure Tour. It is a zipline adventure and it is a lot of fun. We booked it via the cruise ship but we met people who booked it with shoretrips for less money. So it is may be worth looking into it.

Hope it helps
