Default Smith's Cove

Does anyone know if Smith's cove rents snorkeling equipment? If so, is there any type of instruction available with the rentals? I have never snorkeled, and don't know if it is something that can just be done once we have the equipment, or if we need an instructor. I was thinking about taking a taxi to this cove for our excursion since I am upgrading our cabin and now may have to make up for the money spent there by canceling our planned excursion at this port which was the Jeep excursion.

Note: Although I have never snorkeled, my DH and DD have; once or twice, so they know a little bit about what to do.

Hi,
Are we talking abput Smith's Cove in the Caymans? If so, no, there is no equipment rental there. It is however a great place. Have been there 2x. Once, before the hurricanes devastated the island and again after. It took a bad hit and alot of damage was done but still a great place. Arrange ahead for a cab. I think it was like 6$ but am not really sure.

Gatormama,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was referring to Smith's Cove in Cayman. I guess forgot to clarify! I've now signed us up for the ship's excursion to Stingray City, which returns at 1:00pm, so I doubt we'll have time to visit Smith's Cove. My daughter really wanted to snorkel in GC, but everybody says don't miss stingray city, so I guess we'll do that, then just shop and look around until our boarding time since our ship leaves at 4:00.
