I've heard from cruisers that have had them, that they are. Makes it more cost efficient, if you can go in with another couple??

We had a cabana a couple of years ago during a stop at Half Moon Cay. Loved it, and wrote this article at the time.

We have a stop there again in Jan. when we're on Zuiderdam, and I've booked a cabana again.

Last time we just found someone on the ship to share the cost with. This time there are 4 of us traveling together, which makes it economical.

Default HMC Exclusive to Holland America?

That is a great article on the cabanas. I was wondering if you could answer a basic question for me. Your article refers to HMC as a Holland America private island but I am going there on the Carnival Triumph. Do you know if I will be at the same place as where you wrote about.

Thanks in advance.

Same place. Holland and Carnival share the facility but not on the same day.

We were in HMC in May 2007. Very pretty island. We were going to get a cabana, but in the end did not. We never missed it The ocean was very calm and it seemed like not everyone was in the water at the same time. We were a party of 8 and just got in the water stood around and had our buckets of beers. It was great. Went to eat and back to the ship for a nice nap. The plus side of the cabana's would be the food delivery instead of going yourself to get it. If your just gonna relax in the water, I would save the $$$ for other adventures. IMO. Whatever you decide Enjoy 8)
