Default 8 year old at Stingray City

We are thinking of going to Stingray City with an 8 and 11 year old. Is this wise? The 8 year old is 4'2". Is he going to be able to stand up?

Yes, your 8 year old should be fine, the water is pretty shallow, plus you'll be wearing vests. I think the kids will have a ball.

Default We just went with my 7 year old

My son was 7.5 years old. He could stand in some areas but not others. He couldn't do the snorkling well. He LOVED the stingrays though - I recommend it for ages 7 and up. My 4 year old did not come and I was glad she stayed on board.

Smart move - when my kiddo was four I took him and he decided to ride on my shoulders and turn a squid bucket over my head. The rays went crazy and of course my kiddo had a blast while dad stood very still.

One of the best times we have had cruising.

Default Thank you all

Thank you all for your advice. I think we will do it. I just need to convince that he will have fun. His attitude toward it depends on the day.

An alternative is the turtle farm, but SRC is more interactive...

Are the vests provided or is it an extra charge when you get there?
