Default Puerto Vallarta Pirate Ship

Has anybody taken the Pirate ship excursion out of Puerto Vallarta?

My DH loves to sail and I think he will have a ball on the pirate ship. According to the write-up they give talks about the life of a pirate and put on a little show with sword fighting and acrobatics.

It takes us to a beach and there are a number of activities. We would like to rent a catamaran. Are there 2 person catamarans or does it have to be with a group?

There is sailing on a Tall Ship in Cabo but I think the Pirate Ship would be more interesting.

We ended up taking the Tall Ship out of Cabo San Lucas. They billed themselves as a Pirate Ship, I think to attract more people. I got a chance to see the "Pirate Ships" in Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta and I think they just turned into drunken parties, not at all what we were looking for anyway.

The Tall Ship was interesting, she has a very colorful history. The Talofa (hello in Samoan) is 86 years old and was used during WWII. It is a nice boat and they take you out and around the tip of Cabo then back to a nice snorkeling area along the beach. Very relaxing, but more for an experienced snorkeler than a rank beginner like me. Between getting salt water in my mouth and fighting with the life jacket I had a difficult time. Next time I'll try for a gentle tidal pool (I'm such a woose!)
