Default Atlantis - Nassau HELP!

Wife and I will be there next week! We were wondering if we needed to make advance plans (i.e. purchase something beforehand) to visit Atlantis. All we really want to do is ride the water taxi over and see the place, maybe have lunch, visit shops, etc. Would it be foolish for us to try this without purchasing an excursion or day pass beforehand?? Any info greatly appreciated!!

Yes you can take the water taxi over, and enjoy the shops, casino, and restaurants with out a charge,,,you can buy The Dig Tickets, there if you want as well...It's a magical way to spend a day in my view...check out the magnificent Dale Chihouly piece of blown glass artwork in the lobby, it's spectacular! Have a ball

When we went to Nassau. We booked a shore excursion on board the ship. We usually book all of the shore excursions on line, months prior to our cruise. The excursion that we wanted wasn't offered to us on line. We really wanted to see the "Atlantis Hotel" and the "Aquarium". So when we first arrived abord the ship, (Carnival Liberty), we noticed that the tour that we wanted was offered to us. The tour was called "Discover Atlantis & Historial Harbor Cruise Tour". We started out boarding a glass bottom boat. We than cruised around the harbor, then they dropped us off at "Paradise Island", (that's where the Atlantis Hotel is located). That's where the tour began to take us to the Atlantis Hotel, (a walking tour). We started walking though many little shops, into the Hotel. We were given the grand tour of the hotel. Then they took us down to the Aquarium that is located under the hotel. That was really nice. That tour was a good tour. You can see the photos that I took of the tour at "My Photo Albums" (on this web site). Have fun... Dave & Diane

that is exactly what we did, hopped the water taxi over to Paradise Island and Atlantis, walked right into the casino, which has the amazing glass sculptures that Trip was talking about, went to the kiosk in the lobby and purchased our tickets to "The Dig" (thats what the aquarium is called) it is amazing, after that we wandered around the marina, marveled at the huge yachts berthed there, then did some shopping at the outdoor market, then grabbed the taxi back to the ship
