Chichen Itza Mayan Ruins

Has anyone went on the Chichen Itza Mayan Ruins excursions? Can you actually walk up the pyramids? Some pictures show people walking up, and other don't show any.

Also this is the 7th Natural Wonder of the world correct?

Unless things have changed, to the best of my knowledge you cannot climb it anymore. A few years back there was an accident, so they closed it.

Try Ek Balam near Chitzen Itza you can climb that or Coba near Talum you can climb Coba but not Talum or Chitzen Itza.

If you are thinking of the “seven wonders of the world” list, it is Machu Picchu in Peru which is usually included, not Chichen Itza.

Chitzen Itza is included on the New Seven Wonders of the World list! It's worth seeing even if you can't climb it.

The ruins are truly a site to see! When we went several years ago, you were still allowed to climb it. However, the steps were quite steep. My DH was planning to climb until we seen a teenage girl fall about 6-7 steps up. She fell and did not move. The "ambulance" was a pick-up truck (I think the truck was older than the ruins!) and planks of wood were used to pick her up and transport her. My DH decided not to climb!!
