I was wondering where do you keep your money etc. when you are say snorkling or swimming on the shore excursions? Does someone just have to stay on shore while others are out?
thanks
Vicki
As said, do not carry a lot of monies on you.
Have your seacard , a credit card ( in case you want to do shopping) and your passport (some islands now might ask for your passport) or a copy of it
Put it all in a waterproof containor.
Its always good to have someone looking after things regardless.
If you are on a sailboat or privarte, they most likely have a place to place your belongings, on the beach, under a towel, ask someone to watch for awhile.

The cruise ships now ask for ID - but not necessarily a passport.
I take some cash, a credit card and my drivers license when i go snorkeling - because you can get all of them wet. You can't get a passport wet.
The only other option is to go with a shore excursion or to a hotel where they have lockers or paid staffers to watch your stuff. No, you can't leave stuff on the beach in the Caribbean - or anywhere.

In my earlier note I indicated with a friend but as Paul said , do not leave and swim.
In our case we are Non US , so we have to have passports but on our last cruise the ship in the daily news indicated to us that port authorities will require our seacard on return and its best to have another form of identification for the police or other officials, so in our case we use our pasport.
I am not a snorkeling person so its good that Paul has fresh thoughts

as the others have said, only bring the bare minimum when you go on your shore excursions, we bring a backpack- put the towels, couple of bottles of water, disposable camera and space for souveniors. cruise card/id/credit card/ is in a waterproof pouch on a lanyard that goes around my neck. Most beaches will have lockers
