Default Affordable excursions in Grand Cayman and Cozumel?

Just booked my first cruise on the Inspiration for Nov 28 going to Cozumel and Grand Cayman. This trip overall is very low budget (luckily we're not drinkers or gamblers). I was thinking maybe we could afford one excursion for the whole trip. We're not real high adventure, either. So something affordable and a bit simple. I may consider snorkling, but don't know much about it and I'm not a great swimmer. I would love to see the Mayan Ruins so if you know if a cheap excursion for that, that would be great. Any other affordable excur. at either port, please share! This is so overwhelming!

My suggestion is to take an excursion, in Grand Cayman, to Stingray City. Go out feed the stingrays and if you can afford it, and if you like snorkeling, take one that also offers a deep water snorkeling.

Providers like Captain Marvin or Captain Crosby offer good excursions for under $50/pp.

Excursions to Tulum from Cozumel will run you $80+/pp.

Take care,

i totally agree with Mike, the private tour operators he mentioned on Caymen are the way to go, not very expensive either. If the ruins are a little bit above your budget then a couple of suggestions for Cozumel would be to do a beach day, you can do an all-inclusive like Nachi or for less money you can do a beach day at Channunkaab National Park where you can swim, snorkel, tour the aquarium, they have a small replica of the ruins, clean facilities, snack bar, and dolphins, you can book a dolphin swim but that can be very costly.

If I could only do only excursion, I too would do a private snorkel/stingray tour in Grand Cayman. The stingrays are a great experience for the first timer and you can snorkel as well. There is a nice free snorkel area within walking distance of the pier in Grand Cayman too.

There are no decent Mayan ruins on Cozumel and I would not waste my valuable vacation time or money getting to the mainland. There are several 'free' beaches there that will only cost you the price of a taxi. Also free snorkel locations. Find a little beach bar or club-you don't need a resort. You just need to research it a little.
