Default Atlantis...Worth it?

I'm about to sail to the Bahamas this year for Christmas. We stop in Nassau and we're really excited for Atlantis Aquaventure. We decided on the half day excursion. However, the price seems a little high. Carnival offers the excursion with transfer to Atlantis, "meal coupon", and entrance to the water park for $135.00. Has anyone done this? Is this a good deal? Any suggestions as to how to experience the Atlantis Aquaventure?

Sorry if there's another post similar I couldn't find one.

I can't answer to the specifics of your question, because, we just taxied over on our own, saw The Dig, Aquarium, and walked around some exhibits by the pool. I would say, in a word. YES, by all means go see it,any way you can..

I'm sure someone who has done that excursion, will chime in..Have fun!

You may come out more cost effective by renting a room at the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island......this will allow you access to everything at the Attlantis, but does not include transfers or any meal voucher. Many folks including myself have used the property and saved a ton of cash by doing it this way.

How strange, we had always fancied staying at the Comfort Suites but never did.
As for if it is worth it or not...go for it! you are on holiday!!

took a taxi or van.... maybe $10.00 - $15.00 for 4 passengers...short trip and CS is easy walking distance to the Atlantis.... make sure to visit the marina there too... beautiful yachts and if lucky as we were, you may get an owner to welcome you onboard their vessel for a tour !

that sounds like it might turn out cheaper, I'll have to talk to the others in my party and see what they think. Im glad to hear that Atlantis is all that they say it is.

I was there 2 weeks ago and that was my second time, although I just did the basic tour and it was even nicer than I remembered it...Great aquarium and grounds, worth seeing.

If you do nothing else, experience The Dig, it is amazing. Just and FYI, unless policy has changed if you book at another hotel you do not have access to the waterpark at Atlantis, anyone have any updated info on this?

We did this excursion by booking through Comfort Suites with another couple last October. In fact, we never actually checked into the room at Comfort Suites but, as we overnited in Nassau, we could have used the room if we had wanted to. It ended up costing us about $85 pp as compared to Carnival's rate, and we were able to go when we wanted. It was a great way to enjoy the day and I highly encourage it. I can provide more specifics on it if you'd like.

I'm curious if anyone who has done this knows if you get access to the water park?

Iamchip, yes, you get access to both the waterpark and the Digs with your stay at the Comfort Suites.

Default Atlantis Info

I did the Aquaventure for the 2nd time this year a couple weeks ago. The Dig, Discover Atlantis Tour, is included in Aquaventure, however, you have to sign up for a guided tour in the Casino. Tours leave every 1hr. 20min. You may do a self-guided tour at any time. Towels are included, however, locker rentals require a credit or debit card (or buy an Atlantis gift card with U.S. cash in one of their gift shops). They charge $7 for a small, $9 for a medium, and $11 for a large; $50 if you do not return the locker key. If you like water slides and "lazy" rivers, Aquaventure is worth it. The "lazy" river has rapids, several entry points, a conveyor belt to take you up to the Tower of Power without leaving your tube. The mayan temple has several waterslides, two of which go through a shark tank. It's the best experience I've ever had at any water park.

Question Atlantis and boat tours

The Discover Atlantis tour that begins with a bus ride from the pier looks perfect to me. My mom does not like to swim or go down waterslides, so when traveling with her, I do not want to make the waterpark a priority. It would cost $60 without the waterpark IIRC, so Comfort Suites would not be a money saver. Is there an independent tour company I can book the Discover Atlantis tour with?

I also want to know if any independent tour company does the Glass Bottom Boat tour. If there is, can I get to it from Atlantis?
