California coastal-sapphire princess-alcatraz tour

Looking for a reliable company that does a similar tour for the Alcatraz/Sausalito that the ship offers. It is sold out and i am on a waitlist #34 which does not look good.
There are several online , but want to make sure that we do not have to go far away to catch the tour.
Also , does anyone know what pier Princess docks at ?

There is absolutely no reason to book the Alcatraz tour through Princess. I assume the OP is not interested in spending more money than necessary to see Alcatraz. SF now ranks #2 in America on the "most walkable cities" list and has a good bus system so I see no reason you should depend on Princess to take you to Pier 33.

Thanks for the advise, i booked the tickets to Alcatraz yesterday through the direct site . Much cheaper $26.00 and found out as you said it is very walkable to get there from the ship.
We might even have plenty of time to take the ferry to Sausalito in the afternoon .

Another way to get to Sausalito is taker a HOHO (hop on hop off) bus tour. Some tours go there, then up to beautiful Muir Woods (bring your camera for that one). But I took a HOHO bus that turned around after crossing the Golden Gate Bridge because I wanted to spend most of the day at Golden Gate Park and stay within city limits.

Are you taking the northbound cruise in May our southbound cruise in October?
