Aft Balcony Cabins

I have heard that having an Aft balcony cabin is very desirable because of it's larger size. I am assuming that the price of one of these larger Aft balcony cabins is more expensive. Am I correct in assuming this? Thanks

Hi! No at the moment the prices are the same from what I can tell. We have two aft cabins booked and did not pay more. Hope this helps ...

We too have an catagory D aft cabin booked on Radiance and the price is that of a Catagory D. I've been meaning to try one for a long time, finally will get my chance. I'd say if you can get one, go for it and give it a try.

On "RCI" they are same price. "Carnival" has a slight increase in their "extended balcony" categories (was only $10p.p. on the "Spirit").

By the way I went and saw Vicki's aft cabin on the Rhapsody and although the balcony was huge the cabin itself was not. She told me this before I saw it and then when I saw it I understood. The balcony was awesome!!!! Debbie

VERY true! "RCI" has never been known for giving us alot of cabin space but after a nightmare aft balcony on an "NCL Sky," I was right back with "RCI."

Robbie can you tell me why the aft cabin on Sky was a nightmare. We are booked in one in September.

Soitenly! We had a centered aft-facing balcony room which was quite nice until we found out the lounge underneath us had their speakers attached to the ceiling..OUR FLOOR in other words!! When we called to complain, the desk said they would ask them to turn them down but they never did. A follow-up call resulted in being told, "all we can do is ask them since they are a different department." All of the aft-facing cabins could hear the music but it was louder in some due to the placement of the speakers. We could sing along with the words inside our cabin so it was more than a minor nuisance at bedtime. "NCL" just didn't care and when I complained upon my return, "NCL" was disinterested so I sent them back my "Latitudes" card (we had one other cruise with them that didn't go well, brown bath water, and they were just as concerned that we complained then). Check you cabin location on "CruiseStateroom.com" or in your brochure to see if you can anticipate any noise problems and if I can be of any further help, feel free to e-mail me, Robbie

I don't mean to sound dump but what does aft mean. I have a cabin on the (aft). Is this the middle of the ship or the hump of the ship?

Aft Cabins are the ones looking back where ya'll been. (back of the ship)
They look backwards. Some of these aft cabins (with balconies)
have larger (and / or) odd shaped balconies. I have never been
on one yet, but have booked for October on the Rhapsody of the Sea.

We had an aft balcony on the NCL Star (Hawia) and loved it. The only problem we had was not being able to keep the door open but a bungie cord did wonders. We are going on theRCL Explorer of the Sea on May 17th with 1700 collectors and we have a aft balcony on floor 9 #9690. This will be our 4th and loved them all. The Balcony on the Star was twice the size of the reg balconys and we were able to spend lots of time on it. We could see both sides of where we have been. Have fun.

We have a cat D room 9582 on the part of the ship the bulges outward. But the tags say AFT.

"Aft-facing" literally means looking out over the back of the ship. Aft just means the rear section of the ship so they know which elevators to use so the crew can get them as close to your cabin for your cabin steward to deliver them.
