Default Help with Shore Excursions please!

We will be arriving with the Carnival Ecstasy in Nassau on March 9th at noon and will be leaving that evening at 8 pm. We also have a stop in Freeport on the 11th from 8 am - 5 pm. We're trying to decide on whether to book excursions for each day.

My bf is interested in going to Atlantis but I'm not sure it's worth the money since we are only arriving at noon. Is there a pass for half a day? I know there is an "official" Carnival Excursion for half a day at Aquaventure but it seems REALLY pricey for only 4 hours. Is there a less expensive way to do it? What would it cost to just go to Atlantis and buy a pass to the pool for the afternoon? Would we be allowed to go to the casino for awhile with that kind of pass?

As far as Freeport goes, he wants to try and rent Jet Skis somewhere - does anyone know of an excursion that has access to Jet Skis?

Last but not least - snorkeling is one more option he may want to explore but to be honest, I am not a very good swimmer at all & I've never done any snorkeling. Are there any excursions in either port that would be safe & enjoyable for someone who is not only a new snorkeler but one that doesn't swim too well? I'm probably asking too much here but I guess it can't hurt to ask.

(BTW - we don't feel like we have to do "official" ship excursions but we would like to find companies that are safe & reliable.)

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

It's a short drive or water taxi, [taxi is preferable] over to Atlantis, and you could certainly do all you would want in several hours time, and be back on the ship for dinner. This blurb below is from Comfort Inn on Paradise Island..give them a call, and, see if the day rate there is less expensive then the ship..you do get more to see and do this way...

The Comfort Suites® Paradise Island is located adjacent to the Atlantis Paradise Island and guests of the hotel can enjoy full use of all their facilities, including swimming pools, private beach, magnificent waterscapes, Lazy River Ride, water slides, health spa, tennis, and Kids Camp. Guests also have full signing privileges at Atlantis' restaurants and lounges.

Trip, with her book & tea!

Linda is right, Nassau itself does not really have a bay or beach - you are better off going to Paradise Island ($5 taxi ride).

If you are set on jet skis, you can try walking into the pier area and seeing what tour guides are offering inside.
