Smile Large groups

I was just wondering if anyone has taken a cruise where there was a large group on the ship? Were talking about 40% of the passengers. Does not seem like it would be that big of a deal to us. But was just wondering.

Once while cruising, there was a large group of insurance company passengers from Canada. It was never an issue.. For part of their day, they had to attend meetings, but did get plenty of free time on the ship...Not much difference than passengers not with a large group, depending on these groups, there should be no problems for the regular cruisers.

We did change one Cruisemates cruise because a large number of passengers were there for the "American Girl Doll" convention at sea. There would have been over 1000 kids between 6 and 12 on board. The group also had a large number of venues reserved for their activities.

I love kids but this would have been a bit too much for me.

Many years ago, on the Ocean Princess, we were on a ten day cruise. There were a number of Barbershop quartet passengers. It was interesting for the first couple of days but after a while it got ridiculous with groups performing/practicing in the passageways, atrium, bars and even in the MDR.

Barbershop is one of those things that can only be taken in small doses. About five days into the cruise there must have been enough complaints because the performances and practices were no longer heard in the public venues. Yes: I was one of the passengers that made a complaint.

In my other 40 something cruises, I've never had a problem.

Take care,
Mike

It can and does happen.

Here is a trick I always recommend - Google your ship and sail date and the word "group" and see what comes up....

Norwegian Breakaway October 19th group cruise

Google

Not that there is anything wrong -- well, you know.
