Default What are my best options???

My family is going on the RCI Enchantment of the Seas 4 Day Bahamas cruise in July of 2016. Right now, we have 2 large Oceanview rooms booked for myself, my husband and our 2 daughters, ages 6 and 13 (at the time of the cruise). Should I spend the extra money for a balcony and squeeze the 4 of us in 1 room? Should I even bother with the Unlimited drink package if I don't drink all that much? Since Lemonade and Iced tea and water (tap) is free, should I even bother with getting my kids a drink package for soda if they don't drink it that much? What excursions are the best in the Bahamas? Unfortunately, I am a planner and I hate not knowing all of this stuff now!

I would say, forget the drink packages, if both you and your kids don't drink that much soda. The lemonade and iced tea is fine and easy to find and get yourselves. As for the cabins, that is up to your budget and since it is just going to the Bahamas, there won't be that much to see from Florida to Nassau anyway, so a window would be just fine.

I really enjoyed going over to Paradise Island and seeing the aquarium at Atlantis, I think the kids would enjoy it as well....Just look through all the excursions offered by Royal Caribbean and see what interests you. Many, you can pre-book through a private tour operator too.

For a 4 day cruise I would just get one room with the extra bunks for the kids. You can always have romantic time while the kids are with the kids groups on the ship.

If you don't drink much sods or alcohol then it is cheaper to just buy by the drink then order a drink package. The free drinks are in the buffet area on the Lido deck which is where you will spend most of your time anyway.

Junkanoo(so?) Beach is about a 15 minute walk from the pier, and free.

Default One Cabin or Two?

If you're thinking of putting 4 people in one cabin, you may want to reconsider. We've been on Enchantment several times, and their standard balcony cabins aren't that big. Four people would be a bit crowded. Having said that, if your budget allows, you may want to consider a Grand Suite. Compare the square footage of a GS to that of a D1, and you'll see the difference. For a short cruise, two Ocean View cabins should be just fine.

Forget the drink packages. You would have to consume a LOT of drinks to justify the cost. Likewise, the kids would have to be drinking soft drinks constantly to make the soda package worthwhile. Besides, all that sugar isn't good for anyone.

For a four day cruise on Enchantment Of The Seas I think your initial booking is the best. This gives you more room, privacy and the precious second bathroom. Enchantment's balcony cabins are not as large as most newer ships and the inside cabins are tiny. The OV is a good choice.

Unless you and/or your husband are big drinkers I would forgo the drink package and just pay as you go. You have to drink about $50/day/pp in order to break even.

The same goes for the kids. You will probably be better off just going with the free offerings and a couple of sodas per day than the unlimited sodas.

Take care and enjoy the cruise,
Mike
