Default Boarding time in San Juan

I already know that when we sail at 4:00 PM we can board the ship at 11:00-12:00, but what about when we sail at 10:00 PM? We have to check out of our hotel at noon. Will we be able to board before the 2:30 "official" boarding time? Can we drop off our luggage and explore?
When will the safety drill be held? I'm an "early to bed" person. Will I need to stay awake for an 11:00 PM drill? Thanks,

I think when we sailed out of San Juan we got to the port around 3, last time we flew in on embarkation day, and the terminal was almost empty. The ship docks early so I would think you can probably drop off your luggage and explore. The pier is right across from Old Town.

The muster drill was fairly late, I forget what time but they may be keeping you up that night.

Hi Fern,

Last march on the Valor we were on by 1200 seems passengers had until 1100 to get off the ship compared to 1000 at other ports. The muster drill was scheduled for 2130. The late dining was canceled. Hope this helps you know what to expect.

You can also check in, get onboard, drop off carry on luggage, and simply get off the ship and explore, you'll have plenty of time...Just remember to bring your sign/sail card to re-board when you come back for dinner...

You can board the ship early, take a nap and then be ready for the evening activities.

I always enjoyed the ten pm sail away...the fort is glorious as you leave the port..we always dropped our luggage off and explored.....on Saturdays there used to be a flea market around the fountain right by the pier..

We enjoyed sailing the deep caribbean from SJ..what's your itinerary Fern?
