Default ship excursions - can i use coupons?

taking the sep. 2nd cruise with RC from seward.
for my alaska tour i bought the alaska TourSaver coupon book. can i use it with ship excursions?
for instance, at jeuno- the Mount Roberts Tramway - the book offers 1+1 coupon (a $33 save). is it possible to use while ordering this excursion from ship?

No, you cannot use them with the cruise line's shore excursion.

But then again, I don't suggest any shore excursions offered by the cruise line. Cheaper, quicker, easier, and much better if you do your own thing.

For example, you can walk to the Mt. Roberts tram, so there's no need to do an excursion. Use your coupon and enjoy it.

is there no advantage at all booking the excursions from ship? what about priorities of getting out of ship, or coming back on time so we would not miss the ship as it departs to next destination?

set your watch to the time on the ship & plan to be back onboard at least 1 hour prior to sailaway 90 minutes is better

Some places a ship's tour will make sense to book if the sights are far away but if you can take a taxi or walk to the tram then it is not worth the $$
research the ports & place to see & how to get there on your own

i know that there are some vendors who guarantee that you will be on time back to ship (or they take care for your transportation to next ship destination). i guess it's worthy for those excursions that go far. is it advisable to use the service of those vendors? can you recommend some?

Don't believe all those stories about people missing the ship. The ones that do are not on an independent excursion. Almost always it's because they didn't change their watch to ship time, lost track of time, or got drunk in a bar. People on independent excursions do not miss the ship.

I had a very long conversation with the owner & president of Shore Trips, Julie Karp, and she proudly states that in the tens of thousands of shore excursions they've sold, they've never once had anyone miss the ship.

The stories of people missing the ship are played up by those who don't know what they're talking about.

They're physically located in Wisconsin, but do shore excursions all over.

We've done independent excursions in all parts of the world, including Russia and China, and have never had any problems or even come close to missing a ship.
