I've always put film in my carry-on baggage and never had a problem. The x-ray machines that look at checked baggage use a much stronger dose of x-rays. Carry your film on instead of putting it in your checked luggage.

If you're still concerned, you can hand the film/cameras to the security people and ask that they be hand-checked.

Here is some more information.

Cheers,
Michelle B.

The Transportation Security Adminstration (TSA) Website says not to put film in checked baggage because the screening equipment will damage it. The TSA Website has a lot of good information for travelers. You might enjoy perusing it. Here's the URL: http://www.tsa.gov/public/interapp/e...orial_0077.xml

Happy Cruising!

Don't take chances with losing your cruise pictures to an X-ray machine. All of our first cruise pictures were lost by Sam's Club, and now I have very few memories of that week. Your vacation photos can be worth the extra effort to protect them. I understand that you can purchase X-ray protection bags for film also.
