Default What's going on with the slides?

We are booked for the Aug. 12 sailing on the Glory. I haven't been keeping up with any news on the opening/closing of the slides. Can anyone please give me an update? Thanks so much!

I haven't heard anything about the Glory. The only persistent slide problems (that I am aware of) have been with the Spirit and the Pride. Those won't be resolved any time soon, I am afraid.

Now weather or high winds may restrict the use of the slides on some ships from time to time, but other than that...you should not have a problem on the Glory.

Default slides

should I assume that there may be problems on the Legend as well since she is a sister ship to the spirit and the pride?

What exactly is wrong with the slide on the Pride? I was on her a year ago, and the slide was closed then. Are they having maintainance issues with them?

HI! I JUST GOT OFF THE SENSATION (AWESOME) THE SLIDES WERE OPEN MOST OF THE TIME--I WAS TOLD IT DEPENDS ON THE WIND AND THE SEAS.

Rumor has it (and I say that because I wasn't there) that the Pride's slide was to fast. Some guy could not stop in the allot space in the trough and hurt himself and sued.

They tried to "reworK" the slide and according to Noonan, it was faster. (not the results they wanted). I read last week that they had dismantled it completely.

My only hope is that since these slides are so pronounced in Carnival's advertisement, that any ship without an operational slide is making it clear to their passengers before they book. This is a big deal to some folks and they should have all the correct information before they book their cruise. (Kinda like the gnome in the flying chair "the pool is closed)
