Default Ashamed of Some Fellow Citizens

On the news tonight, some of my fellow Canadians were evacuated from Lebanon. 260 lucky souls out of 30,000, leaving quite a few standing on the dock. News media were there to interview them 12 hours later when they docked in safety. Were they happy? Relieved? Nope.

The shipboard accomodations weren't to their liking.
1) Not clean enough
2) Seasick (apparently Canada didn't think to send a ship with stabilizers)
3) No food or water (for 12 hours.... gimme a break)
4) Pushing and shoving (again, the Govt.'s fault)

I guess there were no limousines to meet these vip's at the dock also.

If it were me, the Govt. could evacuate me on a 3-legged mule with bad gas and I'd be THANKFUL.

Move over Ugly Americans.... there's a new UGLY on the block, and it ain't nice. It's soft, flabby, whiney and got free education and medical.

Hi CC,

Sounds like Blair's Britain where those that do nothing and live off the state, expect everything from those that work to the bone and expect nothing back in return.

Always thought Canada would be a good country to move to, much better than here but like you say, you always get those that are never happy with anything, even having their poor lives saved!!!!

What is this world coming too.

sorry to be so negative, but when you ahve been thru the year that I have this year (Hubby being diagnosed with a brain tumour and son with chronic depression - in Hospital), you fully become aware how precious life is.

Obviously those morons haven't reached that stage of their lives yet but one day they surely will.

Take care
Kimmiegirl

Exactly. They didn't book a cruise for heaven's sake, they are lucky to be evacuated from a war zone and should be grateful no matter how they get home!

Kimmiegirl, most of these people thought Canada was a very good place to move to ,also. That 's why they immigrated here from Lebanon. They of all people should know what kind of place Lebanon is. I hope they can stop complaining long enough to thank the Country that took them in and then rescued them when they returned to their war zone homeland.

Don't burst my bubble...we always thought Canada would be a great place to live, especially if John Kerry becomes the U.S. President!

I just can not believe there were that many there "visiting" at one time!!! I guess Canada will never be their true home country for a lot of them.
I would be very grateful if I was them to be rescued like that.
