Default Will a Passport Card Work?

I plan on taking my wife on our very first cruise for our 5th year anniversary on VOS 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise on Feb 28, 2010.

I have a passport (due to work), so I can use that during the boarding, etc....

We have the option of getting either a passport BOOK or the passport CARD... But like the subject line states: Will the card be enough for RCI regulations, etc.... or is the book the best way to go?
