I never see any thing about cruise to the Phillippines and Manila. Are there cruise ships that visit ports in the Phillippines?
We have always wanted to visit that area and would love doing it by ship. If you know of any cruises there let us know. Thanks, Tom Tom |

A lot of world cruises stop in Manilla; it is a chance for many crew to see their families. When friends have sailed this route before, they all tell their stewardesses that they don't need cleaning that day.

I do not remember very many great cruises around the Philippines, but I know some cruise lines stop briefly, but you can jump onboard a ship almost anytime. We visited the Philippines a few years ago to visit a friend that lives there. We rode a ferry from Manila down to Dumaguete and were aboard the ship for about 24 hours.
You would not classify it as a cruise. No luxury was involved. Meals were very basic. The only entertainment was the television and the water. We saw many day cruises on small vessels, but not many offers for longer cruises. There is one cruise we have looked at a few times that goes from Hong Kong to Manila and takes about 3 days, but I do not remember the cruise line now. |

Manila is now a cruise home port as Star Cruises launched its “Jewels of the South China Sea” cruise, marking the first-ever homeport deployment of Superstar Virgo in the Philippines.

Royal has several cruises with Port stops here in the Philippines. Holland American also has them. Star Cruises has been bring a ship here for the last two years March to June. But I would say do not cruise with them.
Star Cruises is sub standard at best. The only cruise line I know of that limits you to one meal per meal period. The only cruise line I have be on that the buffet is less than 10 hot items. I am in Manila near the port several times a year and always see ships doing port calls. Several other ports here are also used. |
