Default What do other countries think of Trump and the GOP?

I think we already know Mexico's opinion. Here is one from New Zealand. They are very discerning.

It shows the Grand Obstructionist Party for the joke that it is. If racism and bigotry are funny.

I am a registered Democrat .I have never voted for a Republican for President .I am a former Vice-President of the CYD (College Young Democrats) and when I resided in NYC I was a member of a Democratic Club in Brooklyn.
I am also a resident of New York State and as of now I am planning to vote for Donald Trump if he is on the ballot.

As of now he is not "playing" politics .He freely states everything that is on his mind and in my opinion that is something refreshing .

Fifteen years ago Minnesota had a former wrestler who decided to run as an Independent candidate for governor. He said all the right things, didn't pull punches, attacked the status-quo and was articulate in debates. We drank the Kool-Aid and elected him. Yes: I was one of the people that drank the Kool-Aid and regretted it later.

Things went OK for about a year and half. Then the legislature began pushing back and the press started writing about his son's parties at the Governor's mansion and other "things". The Governor didn't like that and went into professional wrestler mode and when that didn't work he began to "whine" and accused everyone of "picking on him". He didn't run for a second term because he knew he could not win. The states surplus was gone; highway maintenance was cut and the heads of many major departments were nothing but cronies who had no idea what they were doing. This was Jessie Ventura.

Donald Trump is in the same category. It's nice to hear someone go after the status quo and to challenge the people in power but I know he will become another Jessie. Actually Donald has put his foot in his mouth far more than Jessie did during his entire campaign. Fool me once; shame on you. Fool me twice; shame on me.

Take care,
Mike

Trump has found the ultimate reality show and is paying a lot of money to star in it. The presidency is not a game show. You can't fool all the people all of the time.

We have a Labour Party Leadership candidate who is saying what he thinks and strangely neither the media or his fellow candidates know what to make of him.

I don't think he is electable.

However I think we are heading for a slight realignment of the centre-left in the UK.

Trump says he is not a politician and he won't conduct political business as usual if he is elected. He says he is going to run thing differently. That tells me he really doesn't know or understand how Washington works. In Washington it's all politics and in order for him to be President he is going to have to be political that's how the game is played in D.C.

That's great. I'll bet that there are a lot of children in this country that could use that type of generosity. I'll bet there are children all over the world with this type of need. Why did a child from Israel get special treatment from Trump?

Personally, I will consider moving to Europe if Trump becomes President. His hatred for illegal aliens will snowball and I would not feel safe here. I have lived in the USA for 57 years and I am a disabled Vietnam Veteran but when the mobs start to go wild and chase people who don't look like they belong here it's going to get ugly.
I know what happened to the Jews in Germany after Hitler started to preach hatred.

Trump says he will make it illegal to be unemployed in the US. That's just how they do it in Russia.

Yes he says a lot of things, but talk is cheap.

Does Trump know that he is not running for a dictator position? Is he aware that Congress makes the laws?
If he becomes President he will not have the power to do any of the bull crap that he is proposing.

Trump thinks he can hissy fit his way in. Apparently he doesn't realize Congress can spend him into real bankruptcy in a few days.

Trump is not the only republican clueless about the US Constitution.

Trump wants a wall to keep out Mexicans yet we are going to let in thousands of Syrian refugees. Asians are flying in by thousands and so are South Americans and Africans.
We were against the Berlin wall and now we build a wall of our own. This sure won't be easy to explain to our European friends.

Not sure how Trump could build a wall without using "illegals". Or prevent tunnels underneath it.
