Default Recommendations for Barbadios or Antigua

Has anyone gone to either of these places I would appreciate hearing anything about what you did there like or disliked. I have been on every ship with rccl and most every carribean cruise but never gone to the places. Also St, Lucia. Thanks for your input much appreciated

When we went to Antiqua, we took a helicopter ride over to Montserrat to see the volcano. It was our first time in a helicopter and it was a blast. The ride over was really nice and the pilot took us right up to the crater (just steam coming up that day...no lava shoots). The island was beautiful.

We took an early ride and then that gave us time to walk around a little in town and grab some lunch (Hemingway's was a nice place to go...upstairs balcony table to see the goings-on on the street below).

We haven't been to Barbados so can't help you there...

Have fun!

I enjoyed a taxi ride to Harrison's caves. For awhile they were closed, not sure if they re-opened. Also, a good beach that isn't too far from the pier is Boatyard.. Many of the crew like to hang out there, lots of water activities, chairs, restaurant/bar.

In Barbados we took a catamaran trip with Heatwave. We've now done this tour two years in a row with them and still think its one of the best excursions we've taken.

In Antigua we went to the beach for the day at Dickenson's Bay.

Fair warning that the shoppong is not good in antigua. We stayed a week there to try something new and we were very dissappointed. The snorkeling is not that great as the water isn't very clear. I would suggest the helicopter tour or maybe a beach break type thing. In barbados I would definately suggest the boneyard if you like a beach with food drinks and activity. They have pier with a rope swing and other neat stuff along with good food and great drinks. not good if you are looking for quiet.
